I've noticed of late that certain web sites will no longer display on an iPhone and force you instead to download their app "for the best browsing experience".

Examples include Daft.ie and TheJournal.ie -- try clicking on links from either within Facebook and see what happens.

These sites can go forth and multiply.

I didn't find any problem, Richard: I used Safari as I always do for web browsing on the iPhone. On initial load, both sites ask if you want to download their app, but you can cancel that. They do automatically push the mobile version, but at the bottom of each home page there is a link to the desktop version. I've no experience with accessing them via Facebook as I don't use FB

If you click on a link from either in the Facebook news feed, it tells you that you must download the app in order to view this link.
